In China, vampires had long, hooked claws and red eyes. They were known as ch’iang shih, which translates to “corpse-hopper.”

During the 16th century, it was believed that vampires fed off the bodies of plague victims, and that female vampires spread the plague. Those suspected of being vampires were even buried with rocks wedged in their mouths.

Sometimes grave robbers would open a coffin and the corpse would move or sit up—a natural reaction that can be caused by decomposition. This may have led to the legend of vampires sleeping in coffins.

Logline:

Title: Golden

Written by: Kathryn Robson

Type: Novel

Genre: Supernatural Mystery

Logline: When you are Golden, in darkness you must stand strong and the line between Beast and Saviour is so thin, until you are marked the whole world holds its breath.

I know I know, overexcited much? But isn’t it all just brilliant fun?

Now some of you may rightfully ask: Logline? Whats that when its not a huntsman standing in a que for some logs for his campfire? What has it got to do with writing and publishing a novel and why have we never heard of it before?

All good questions, and like everything nowadays they are only a couple of clicks on the keyboard and a google away! And to think when I was 16 there was no google, and no, I am not 102 years old, only 35! Already I have seen such amazing advances in technology, its mindboggling, but enough of that, this post is about loglines, not science – its so easy to get sidetracked.

A logline is a one-sentence summary of your script. It’s the short blurb in TV guides that tells you what a movie is about and helps you decide if you’re interested in seeing it. It’s the grabber that excites your interest.

Again you ask, what has that got to do with books? Well, everything really! All good films start out as a book, even when they are not actually a published novel, but a screenplay, it is still a written work, witch an Author has poured countless hours of work into. Books are often used as basis in films, and directors and film companies are always always looking for new stories and ideas. Consumers are greedy, they gobble films and series up in astounding speeds, the industry struggles to keep up.

So they often turn to Authors and books. A author submits a Logline, and if it grabs somebodies interest, who knows where it could lead to. Hopefully more publicity for Golden! Don’t get me wrong, a good film or series based on my book is too far in the stars to even think of, my main passion is still my story of Amy and Daniel, and I dream on and on of where their story will take them next, probably not Holywood, but a published Logline is a good place to start and I am incredibly chuffed tonight.

A month since Golden has been published and a few reviews have been trickling in. Reviews on Amazon are like Gold Dust and I want to thank every reader who took the time to leave one. Thank you.

All of you who have read it but not yet left a review – go on !!

Here are a few of my favorites:

From Goodreads:

I don’t normally read reviews in the same way I don’t normally bother with new Authors, but this book came highly recommended so I gave myself a push and bought it last night and I have not put it down till now.
If you like the Maze Runner and Hunger Games, but wished they had a few Vampires, Demons and a tad more heartache, this is the book for you!
It starts of fast, slows down for a few chapters painting the scene and then bam wham thank you mam all the way to the end. There is wrenching heartache, situations nobody should ever be in , Vampires, Demons and throw in a handfull of government agents and soldiers and we are good to go. When is book 2 coming out ?

Goodreads:

Really enjoyed this book. In fact, I couldn’t put it down! Robson came up with some clever and enchanting ideas in Golden. Some I wasn’t expecting at all. The main character was relatable and well developed. Fast paced and engaging. Great Book.

When you are Golden….

When you are a Protector, in darkness you see the world through different eyes and the line between Beast and Savior is so thin, you find yourself wondering if it was ever there to begin with.

The beat of a heart makes your soul ache, instincts so raw fighting them seems futile and until you are marked, the world holds its breath as within you lies the power to destroy them all.
